Director of Youth Ministry
A joint position with Pleasantville Presbyterian Church and Emanuel Lutheran Church to bring the youth together, engage them in opportunities to connect, to serve and to become community for one another.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend 2 Sundays a month in Worship/Education with each congregation.
- Approximately 20 – 25 hours/week dedicated to mid-week meetings and preparation for upcoming programs.
- Liturgy and Children’s sermons with each congregation (in-person & digitally recorded).
- Lead Youth Sunday School /Youth Group on Sunday mornings (in-person & digitally recorded).
- Help plan, develop, and implement two monthly youth programs for the combined youth group. Most likely one will be in-house alternating between the two churches, and one will be “on the road.”
- Work with Youth Programming Support team(s) to develop programming that meets the youth where they are and helps them to grow in their faith and connect with other people of faith.
- Work with the Youth Programming Support team(s) and church staff to communicate upcoming programs and meetings via email, social media, and Newsletter distribution.
- Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources that relate to youth ministries.
- Flexibility and ability to work with church staff in cooperative measures.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by a positive attitude with young students and families in the church.
- Great computer and creativity skills in utilizing social media (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc.) to reach and engage with online communities.
- Evident relationship and belief in God and willingness to open and share their experiences.
- Engaging and motivated to lead focused projects and programs.
- Educational Background: college graduate.
- Housing, utilities, and free parking provided in community apartment by Pleasantville Presbyterian Church campus.
- $1,500 per month stipend provided by Emanual Lutheran Church
