First Presbyterian Church of Allentown is seeking a compassionate, caring, leader and motivator who aspires to serve the members, friends, neighbors of FPCA as role model, preacher, teacher, counselor, advocate, and servant-leader. This interim pastor will also help us name and address grief in our congregation deriving from a variety of sources: multiple changes in pastoral leadership in a short period of time, the retirement of a beloved Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care after a 27-year tenure, the toll Covid has taken in the personal lives of our members and the corporate life of our congregation, and the recognition of a pattern of conflict necessitating our work with the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. We will look to an Interim Pastor for Pastoral Care as someone to offer us care and compassion, and to help us move forward in a healthy way.
